On 7 August, Wilfried Lemke gave a key note during the Reconciliation Award Ceremony honouring the 2009 United Nations International Year of Reconciliation in Berne, Switzerland.

The ceremony was hosted by the Foundation for Subjective Experience and Research (S.E.R.). S.E.R. created a global Action Plan for the International Year of Reconciliation 2009 to support the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals under the theme: "The Millennium Challenge - Human Reconciliation". In the course of the year more than 160 coordinated programmes, projects and events portraying Reconciliation as a bridge between all levels of human differences (Unity in Diversity) were registered. To conclude the International Year of Reconciliation 2009 in a festive manner, the 12 most outstanding entries were awarded at the ceremony.
