This year's International Youth Camp, a joint initiative of the UNODC and the Qatar Olympic Committee, took place in Doha from 20 until 26 February. This camp is organized by the Global Sport Fund in various regions for selected youth leaders, coaches and mentors to engage in sport sessions and classes and learn about the positive values of sport, such as team play and respect.

Wilfried Lemke took the opportunity to join the youth at the workshops and sport sessions. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who has visited Qatar in December 2008, has pledged his support for the Global Sport Fund initiative.
