Wilfried Lemke visits sport programmes in Haiti
On 20 October, Wilfried Lemke traveled to Haiti to visit several sport programmes. Among these was the Viva Rio Programme, which contributes to violence reduction through sport, and the BlazeSports America Programme for people with disabilities.

On 26 November 2009, Wilfried Lemke gave the opening speech for the 3rd Peace and Sport International Forum, being held from 25-27 November 2009 under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Sport for Peace and Development: Wilfried Lemke speaks at Panel Meeting in New York
On 12 March a panel meeting on sport for development and peace took place in New York, organised by the Department for Public Information. The Special Adviser delivered a speech via video recording, in which he emphasized the previous achievements in establishing sport projects in conflict areas. He pointed out the necessity of "keeping the ball rolling" and of collaborating with NGOs, to achieve best possible results.
